Full course description
This papa will help to make ʻāina come alive in the classroom through the exploration of pōhaku in traditional and modern Hawaiʻi contexts. Kumu (teachers) will examine pōhaku as an ʻāina-based learning resource to recognize the value kūpuna (Native Hawaiian ancestors) had for pōhaku, and reflect upon the attitudes and behaviors associated with the gathering of and working with pōhaku.
