Welcome to Kamehameha Schools Preschools (KSP) Kaʻaikuahiwi online papa (course) 3.1 Pāʻani Aku, Aʻo Mai: Play-Based Learning, the first of four papa in ʻAha ʻEkolu - E Pāʻani Kākou: Learning Through Play pathway. ʻAha Pāʻani explores the benefits of play-based learning through Hawaiian Culture-Based Education (HCBE). Kumu will analyze best practices around culturally relevant play-based learning and reflect on their own practices of integrating Hawaiian Culture-Based play.
In this papa, kumu will examine key components of play-based learning to identify and analyze Hawaiian culture-based teaching strategies that support haumāna growth. Kumu will implement developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant learning opportunities that will assist haumāna with achieving proficiency within the KSP E Ola! Haumāna Assessment tool.
